Comentarios: Hoy quería hacer algo sencillo que reflejase un poco el conjunto del proyecto pero a la vez no quería abandonar el estilo en el que me he venido instalando los últimos días y en el que me he sentido tan cómoda. He intentado encontrar un equilibrio entre ambas cosas y no se si lo he conseguido. Habría querido hacer algo especial y cerrar con algo extraordinario, pero era consciente de que la presión no me lo permitiría, por eso he propuesto una pieza múltiple para acabar de una forma diferente.

Es muy difícil hablar de los 100 días en conjunto, algunos han sido terriblemente difíciles, me he sentido frustrada e inútil. Otros han sido extrañamente sencillos. Sin embargo la mayoría me ha servido como vía de escape, dándome una excusa para expresarme incluso cuando pensaba que no era capaz de hacerlo. Si miro hacia atrás encuentro algunos trabajos de los que no me siento especialmente orgullosa, que jamás habría publicado, pero que tienen su cabida dentro del proyecto y dan significado a todo el grupo y en especial a las piezas de las que si me siento satisfecha.

Este proyecto me ha enriquecido tanto personalmente que no soy capaz de distinguir cómo me ha influído profesionalmente. Me ha puesto a prueba y me ha enseñado que mis límites no se encuentran dónde yo creía, me he dado cuenta de que la mente se puede ejercitar, incluso forzar a veces, algo en lo que antes no creía, pero también he comprobado lo negativo de hacerlo, algo que sospechaba pero que no había llegado a experimentar. He aprendido a analizar un problema y ejecutar la solución de manera más eficiente y me siento más madura y más capaz. Como conclusión puedo decir que este experimento es una de las mejores cosas que he hecho nunca.

It is very difficult to talk about 100 days together, some have been terribly difficult, I felt frustrated and useless. Others have been strangely easy. However, most have served me as an escape, giving me an excuse to express myself even when I thought I wasn’t able to. Looking back I find some work I don’t feel particularly proud of, some work I’d never have published, but they have their place within the project and give meaning to the whole group and especially the parts which if I feel satisfied.

This project has enriched me personally so much that I’m not able to distinguish how it has influenced me professionally. I’ve been tested and it has taught me that my boundaries are not where I thought, I realized that the mind can be exercised, sometimes even forced, something I didn’t believe previously, but I have also found it’s negative to do, something I suspected but had never experienced. I learned to analyze a problem and run the most efficient solution and I feel more mature and more capable. In conclusion I can say that this experiment is one of the best things I ever did.

It ends just when I began to dominate it, although I suspect I’ve learned to dominate it because it was going to end.

Comentarios: Confieso que hoy venía con la idea preconcebida, si bien visualizaba el resultado final, sabía qué tipo de fuente quería usar, y desde luego había pensado en rescatar esta fotografía, que tiene ya un par de años y nunca llegué a publicar.

Comments: I confess that I came today with the preconceived idea, I wasn’t visualizing the result but I knew I wanted to use a font like this and indeed I had thought of rescuing this photograph, which already has a couple of years and never was published.

I confess also that in the middle of the work I had to stop and check that I wasn’t repeating typography, because the one from today is terribly similar to this one. But I was delighted to see that this was a poorer job, much less thoughtful and sophisticated than the one I did today.

Comentarios: Hoy el hilo conductor ha sido un recuerdo, una sesión de Guille Milkyway DJ a la que asistí en 2009, acababa de pasar por el momento más terriblemente duro de mi vida y estar allí, bajo aquellas luces de colores, atrapada por aquella combinación perfecta de música me ayudó a evadirme de mi misma y sentirme por unas horas una persona normal. La foto fue tomada en la misma sesión, por lo que es un cartel del todo imposible pero en el que creo haber captado un instante muy especial.

Aún necesito verlo con perspectiva, pero creo que es el mejor cartel del proyecto hasta el momento.

Comments: Today’s theme was a memory, a Guille Milkyway DJ session I attended in 2009, I had just gone through the most terribly hard moment of my life and being there, under those colored lights, trapped by that perfect combination of music, helped me to escape from myself and feel as a normal person for a few hours. The photo was taken at the same session, so it’s a quite impossible poster, but in which I think I captured a very special moment.

Comentarios: Hoy, por ser el 137 aniversario del nacimiento de Harry Houdini, he venido con la idea de rehacer el cartel de uno de sus espectáculos. Al documentarme me he topado con este artículo que me ha desvelado una faceta de Houdini que no conocía, la de aviador. Por eso me he decidido a rediseñar precisamente el cartel anunciador de los vuelos que realizó en Australia en 1910.

Me he dado cuenta de lo obvio, con un motivo sobre el que diseñar, todo es mucho más sencillo. A partir de ahora trataré de buscar un tema antes de sentarme a trabajar.

Comments: Today, being the 137 anniversary of Harry Houdini’s birth, I came up with the idea of redoing a poster of one of his shows. While I was researching I came across this article that revealed a facet of Houdini that I didn’t know, the aviator. So I decided to redesign the poster for the flights conducted by him in Australia in 1910.

I realized the obvious, with a ground on which to design, it is much easier. From now on I will try to find a topic before I sat down to work.

Comments: Searching for yesterday’s pic I noticed that I find very inspiring the photos I took in London during the summer. Today I return over one of the series, I started with this one, after a few laps I abandoned it and explored other ways to finally come back to it. Comments: Today I started without any specific idea, I first explored a completely different way and when this one came to me, I searched of a free font similar to American Typewriter, I hadn’t use an ersatz so far and I hadn’t even provided in the rules that I imposed myself at the start of the project. I don’t think to repeat it again, but I believe the concept justifies it.

Comentarios: Estoy empezando a sentirme cómoda con el proyecto y lo que es mejor, orgullosa de los resultados. Lo cierto es que reconocía que los primeros trabajos eran demasiado simples, casi diría baratos, pero pensaba que era la consecuencia lógica de trabajar bajo la presión de la obligación. Estaba equivocada. Estoy realmente satisfecha con el trabajo de los últimos tres días. Espero que dure esta sensación.

Comments: I’m starting to feel comfortable with the project and, what is best, proud of the results. The truth is that it recognized that the first works were too simple, I would almost say cheap, but I thought it was the logical consequence of working under the pressure of the obligation.
